Focus Areas:

In addition to adhering to Chab Dai’s international core values, Chab Dai Coalition has three main focus areas:

  1. Learning Community. Chab Dai Coalition focuses on collaboration and community learning in order to build the technical and personal skills of national Cambodian staff who work within member organizations. The coalition assists members collaborate and improve capacity through training, advice clinics, discussion forums and sharing resources, while building bridges between members, UN agencies and government. Chab Dai Coalition is committed to see holistic transformation in the lives of victims; bringing healing and hope through faith in Jesus and through practical support so they are able to become all God has intended for their lives in the future.

  3. Prevention & Intervention. In addition to caring for survivors of abuse, it is critical to have a focus on prevention - especially within vulnerable communities - so children can be safe and know their rights. Our direct projects with churches and communities not only promote awareness about trafficking and abuse, but equip and empower participants to train others on how to recognize potential perpetrators and intervene when needed.

  4. Advocacy & Research. This is a long-term element of Chab Dai Coalition’s work, and one that is often less appealing to supporters. Advocacy, or speaking up on behalf of vulnerable children and communities, is vital to plant the seed of change within Cambodia and beyond. Research is necessary in order for organizations to speak up and see change. We need not only clearly understand the issues facing us in the present, but must additionally have an insight into emerging gaps and issues that will impact the future.

Projects

In addition to facilitating a Learning Community among member organizations, running grassroots prevention programs, and being involved in various advocacy initiatives, Chab Dai coordinates and participates in various multi-agency and collaborative projects with other organizations and government agencies.
