When and where is the event? This year’s event is on 18 Sept. 2011 at Cesar Chavez Park. Check-in starts at 12 Noon, and opening ceremonies begins at 1:30 pm.

What is the event about? Human trafficking and modern day slavery are growing issues across the world, and even in the United States. This event is about standing up for freedom and against exploitation. More

Will registrants get a tax-deductible receipt? Yes! Chab Dai USA is a 501(c)3 public benefit organization registered with the IRS.

Where is the money going? Chab Dai USA is committed to building collaboration amongst organizations focused on ending slavery, and encouraging organizations to work together. Funds raised through this event will be divided amongst Sacramento organizations working locally and across the globe against slavery and exploitation. Funding recipients are: Chab Dai USA, Opening Doors (case management for international survivors of human trafficking), Community Against Sexual Harm (outreach to adult survivors of sexual exploitation), and Courage to be You (aftercare for sexually exploited minors).

I can’t make it to the event, but I still want to help. Can I still contribute? Yes! You can give a tax-deductible donation of any amount. Enter your donation amount on the registration form.

How were recipient organizations chosen? Non-profit organizations working against human trafficking and/or slavery located in the Sacramento region were given the opportunity to submit proposals to Chab Dai USA in March 2011 for funding consideration. Proposals were reviewed by committee and finalized by Chab Dai USA’s Board of Directors.

What if I can’t afford to participate? We encourage all participants to engage others in this important issue by asking friends and family if they would consider sponsoring their participation in this event. Download resources in our Forms & Resources section.

Can I volunteer to help? Volunteer opportunities are available for those who wish to recruit event participants at their church, school, amongst neighbors, or with another group. For information, email us at info@sacmarchagainstslavery.com.
